The slideshow is an introduction to the various types of telescope.Part 1 looks briefly at the history of telescopes, then goes into reflecting and refracting telescopes and their optics. It also looks at the different mounts - altazimuth and equatorial - and motor drives.Part 2 gives things to consider when buying a telescope, including type and size of scope, type of mount and the relative costs. It also looks at computerised go-to systems which automatically find a given object in the sky.It then goes on to the larger telescopes built by government agencies etc in observatories. These include radio telescopes as well as optical.
And finally it looks at space telescopes like Hubble and James Webb and gives a few images taken by these.
